Assistance center in Taul village, district Donduşeni, Republic of Moldova

A hope every day

The major of Taul reported there were many children in the village who needed help. There were many families on the edge of collapse. Many of these families were poor not because of their laziness, but because of difficult economic conditions in the country, or specific situations in the family.

The children included in our project will receive a free lunch offered by our center 6 days a week. Also they will benefit from our educational programs, medical services, and tutoring program. The activities will be organized for them and for their parents.

Where? Now we use local church facility for our children educational programs. We can use 2 church building rooms for this project and here we organize half of our activities. Another part of activities will take place in the village school facility. The lunch will be offered in the school kitchen. Also, the school administration offers us a classroom and the sport room that will be used for children tutoring program and educational activities. The school director is committed to our project goals. She was involved in a few short-term summer projects for children in the past, which we organized.

District involvement: District social assistance organizations are involved in our projects too. They help us with information and through them we can contact families in need. We have discussed the project with the major of Taul and he supports the project.

Project goal: recovering children from socially vulnerable families of Taul village

Objectives:

Assistance to fulfill the basic needs of children (food, hygiene items, clothing, footwear).

All activities listed below have been tried successfully in the Tirnova project and are, hence, likely to prove successful also in Taul.

1. To offer a daily lunch

2. To offer hygiene, clothes, footwear items for children.

3. To offer school supplies for children

Children Education includes support of homework preparation, hygiene, sex education lessons, development of skills for life: modeling, food preparation, decoration, repairs of various household objects, etc. We teach them how to use a computer, radio, guitar lessons (music lessons proved to be proper tools for touching and changing the minds and hearts of young people). The educational games are endless in our program.

The sport activities proved as one of the best ways to get young people turn away from addictions and bad habits and find fulfillment and happiness in life through other means.

And, of course we know how to take some time off from learning and enjoying free time like watching a movie, celebrate birthdays, going on trips and never forget to smile.
